Mentioned in the Doomsday Book, there has probably a mill on the site since Saxon times. Ancient stones foundations were discovered along with coins. The present building dates from the early 20th Century and contains early 20th Century milling machinery.

A fascinating place to visit. Peace, tranquillity and a unique atmosphere. A beautiful island, 1.5miles long by 0.75miles wide to enjoy. There are nature and explorer trails, woodland walks, and magnificent views. Also a 200 acre nature reserve is here.

This 1,000 year old castle dominates the skyline. In 1646 Parliamentarian forces were ordered to destroy the building, leaving the ruins we see today. There is an exhibition centre here and nearby is ancient Corfe Common and Creech Grange Arch.
